
Dr. Colson received her education from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Mayo Medical School. She completed her surgical residency training and obtained a Ph.D. in Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh. She is board certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. Her specific clinical interests are in general thoracic surgery including thoracic surgical oncology (lung cancer, mesothelioma, esophageal cancer, and thymoma), immunologic diseases of the chest, minimally invasive surgery, and lung transplantation. Her research is focused on the induction of transplantation tolerance, immunologic aspects of the lung, bioengineering, and lung cancer. Dr. Colson is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Harvard Medical School and the Director of the Women's Lung Cancer Program at the Dana Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center (Women's Lung Cancer Forum).
