Biography

Dr. Swanson received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in Surgery and Thoracic Oncology and Thoracic Surgery. He received his thoracic surgical education at Brigham and Women's Hospital. He did a fellowship in vascular biology while at Harvard Medical School. Currently Dr. Swanson is Director of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Chief Surgical Officer of the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center. Dr. Swanson's areas of interest include lung cancer, esophageal surgery, video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), lung transplantation, and thoracic oncology.
