
Dr. Colson received her education from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Mayo Medical School. She completed her surgical residency training and obtained a Ph.D. in Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh. She is board certified in Surgery and trained in cardio-thoracic surgery at BWH. Her specific clinical interests are in general thoracic surgery including thoracic surgical oncology (lung cancer, mesothelioma, esophageal cancer, and thymoma), immunologic diseases of the chest, minimally invasive surgery and lung transplantation. Her research is focused on the induction of transplantation tolerance, immunologic aspects of the lung, bioengineering and lung cancer. Dr. Colson is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Harvard Medical School. She is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine within Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at BWH and a member of the BWH Lung Biology Center.
