The Division has been very active in national thoracic surgical societies, as well as, the American College of Surgeons in presenting its research and clinical activities. In addition, each of the members have also been active in the basic research forums for the presentation of their ongoing research activities. The Division's research activities are focused in several areas. These are the areas of lung transplantation, gene discovery in lung cancer and mesothelioma and multi-institutional prospective clinical trials.
