If you are a new patient, the first step to initiating your care and making your first appointment is to register by calling the Brigham and Women's Hospital registration line at (866) 489-4056. After you have registered, you may ask to be transferred to the Division of Thoracic Surgery and speak with one of our New Patient Coordinators. The New Patient Coordinator will ask you to provide some information about yourself and any insurance self coverage you may have. You will also be asked to provide the address and phone number of your referring physician(s), if any, and the nature of your illness. You will then be given the date and time of your appointment and the name of the surgeon who will be meeting with you, along with instructions about what to bring with you at the time of your appointment. The New Patient Coordinator should be able to answer any questions you may have or, if not, will put you in contact with the appropriate person.
